'Let There Be Light Again' is the latest EP from Little Avalanche, a band known for its evocative songwriting and deeply personal storytelling. This release is a unique blend of past and present, featuring one brand-new song—the uplifting title track—alongside four reimagined songs originally written between 1989 and 1996.

The new Little Avalanche EP is about the joys of growing up in a small town in the 80s and 90s...cars, coffee shops, and rock n' roll!

Musically, these songs were started in 2014 and existed as simple demos. After having worked on my other project, Magnetic, for years I wanted to write songs that were more upbeat and had singing. However, I had little confidence in my singing and lyric writing (and rightfully so) at the time. So, they sat there in demo form for close to a decade.

When I started the Little Avalance project, I unearthed these demos and saw the potential they had. So, to fill the gap between the debut album and the very ambitious ideas I have for the second full-length, I decided to put together this EP.

Once I had rewritten and fleshed out the original ideas, I realized I had to write lyrics. It was a real struggle. Eventually, the theme of growing up in a small town emerged. This idea came from the 'stupid' placeholder lyrics for Trans Am Renegade, which ultimately became the actual words in the chorus. They celebrated the innocence, stupidity, and excitement of being young in small-town Canada in the late 80s and early 90s.
